PowerPod Pro

Any word on when this new version is going to be available?

It’s in line after the RIOS update. Laurent will not tell me when the RIOS update will be ready. It could be 2 weeks or 2 months. :frowning:

With the testing of the prototype Bot Board II going well. We will be changing focus to the Atom Pro processor this year. It will take a while to get the boards made, and we will be changing the programming on a kit by kit basis. The big picture is we are pushing the PowerPod Pro development. We have no reason to hold it up on purpose. It’s coming.

Yes, my plan is coming together nicely … an all aluminum, Pro-powered CH3R will be mine! [evil laugh/] :smiling_imp:

I was wondering, will the Bot Board II have a built in pullup resistor for the PS2 controller?

Jim, I’m really psyched about these new products… your company never ceases to amaze!

Yes of course, that’s the whole reason for the Bot Board II. We pulled the inverter from the PS2 game controller port and moved the pins from 4,5,6,7 to 12,13,14,15. This means it will no longer work for the stamp 2 processors, but they were not good at talking to the PS2 anyway. It will only work with the Atom or Atom Pro.

nice-even coming out with a new powerpod! what will the target price be per segment?

The PowerPod being discussed in this thread is software, not hardware.

Right, PowerPod != Polypod.

How is the development/testing on the new bot board going? I have been thinking of getting perhaps one more bot board and Atom chip, but I want the board with the proper socket on it so I don’t have to have somebody put the chip on for me.

I really despise the current sockets, as you know.

The boards are on order from two places. I expect to have them in stock in 3 weeks or so. Yes Dale I know you don’t like the machined sockets… nothing like kicking a dead horse. :unamused:

Are these new boards in yet? Any ETA on powerpod pro? Thanks!

Or the RIOS update?

I have the new boards in stock. We need to test them and I need to finish reworking the users manuals before we can release them. It won’t be long now.

I will have to check with Laurent to see where he is on the program updates.

Hi there,

Yeah i know… i’m late
but RIOS will be finished soon …
(Jim is always adding some work in my bag then he says “hey where is the update”)…writting with tiny font because i know he can’t read that small
i’m running into problems with the RIOS update (interpolation adjust feature) sorry, i know i must work faster because i’m loosing some neurons each day, and i won’t be able to understand my first code lines in a few weeks, so i’m doing my best

about the PowerPod Pro version, it will be just after RIOS update, it will be fast because i plan to convert the BA version to BA pro “as is” at first, so you’ll be able to use Pro chip soon, then i will add an enhanced version for pro with many gaits and cool moves …

hey ! i must go coding now :stuck_out_tongue:

Whene ever it’s done it will be very cool!

Good stuff. Thanks for working so hard on them. Your results always speak for themselves.

The RIOS 1.05 will still have assignable buttons added right?

yes, but it will handle only one joystick for now, you can’t plug two joysticks to control RIOS.
it allows to re-assign PS2 pad axis and buttons to a list of features

Sounds cool. So I can change which axis control the shoulder and elbow and such?

I’ll stop buggin you now.
