New brat coming

Hi,I finally ordered a brat in ses,its hasnt arived yet but has anyone used cirrus servos on a ssc32.Because i have 4 150oz/in digital and 2 200oz/in digital cirrus servos will these work, sorry i have no link,i figger ill use the 200oz/in servos for the hip or under the u channel, will this work.thanks sorry for all the questions,oh i forgot the servos use a s plug if i have to change that im good at soldering.

oh does anyone no how long it takes to ship using ups ground,to riverside california.

It’ll take a couple of days (3 maybe).

I would recomend that you put the 200oz./in. servos for the ankle because technicaly when it’s waling that’s where the most wheight is, but with 150oz and 200 oz… I think that will make it walk no problem if it can actualy do that. If you don’t count on putting huge loads on your BRAT than it doesn’t mater where they are.

Thanks for the info, hopefully the servos do good, there the best car servos money can buy imo,but robotics looks alot different.I was gona just get the full kit but i couldnt bring myself to buy a hitec servo.Specially when i have 300 dollars in digital high torque servos right next to me.thanks

you spent 300 dollars in digi HT servos, but how many did you get?

Oh sorry thats including the brat in ses.The 200oz/in ones are $25 the 150oz/in ones are norm $12 but i got them for $6.99.they are cheap servos but in all my cars and planes its the only servos i trust. They seem dependable in my savage rc it weighs 15 pounds and the 7 dollar servo will turn the 7inch tires at a stand still, yet they never get even warm to the touch even when i stress tested it for a hour at 7.2 volts it barely got hot.well ill see if they work with the ssc32 when it arrives.ill try to get somes pics,i dont have a video camera or digital camera though.thanks

7 dollars a servo??? 150 oz/in??? Please share with us what servos these are. Wouldnt be towerpro by any chance would it?

No their high quall servos by cirrus, made by global hobby the biggest hobby industry there is.There great for rcs but ill test them for a robot, and ill try over volting them to 7.2 volts, wow im always a guinea pig for things lol.I notice you guys swear by hitec, ive had nothing but trouble with 422 and 475,so every servo i buy is a cirrus now.

I just got it yesterday, just in time for my computer to burn up dangit(It was 3 years old and overclocked).I did do minor testing though.I took a rc reciever and hooked up one of the 7 dollar analog servos at 4.8 volts an one servo could continue lifting up the whole brat with just the knee servo working and never got warm tho it was only at 4.8 volts.Problem is the reciever was only capable of spinning 90 degrees. All these servos are 180 degrees tho if i push them they will continue to go back to 90 each way. Itll prolly be a while till i can get it working, well i show any progress that i get. Thanks for the great product it was well packaged and high quallity.

Well i just got done fixing my computer(took a month to find out a $40 item didnt work lol).I got in some testing with my brat,i couldnt make it work because the digi servos dont work on the ssc 32.The analogs so far move the knees and hips quite well(one servo can lift the whole robot)fairly smoothly occasionally a jitter when fully at 90 degrees, but for $7.99 i dont care.Hopefully by monday ill have it fully working.I wish i could post pictures but i dont have a camera.thanks

What??? What servos are you refering to? There is no reason any standard hobby servo can’t be controlled by the SSC-32.

For starters, Jim is absolutely right. Any analog or Digital servo will work with the SSC-32. Infact, I beleive anything that accepts a PWM signal will work with the SSC-32 since I’ve used it to control many different motor controllers as well.

Second, Cirrus aren’t anything close to a High Quality servo. They rank up there with TowerPro and other knockoff clone servo companies. They come stock in some R/c vehicles because the manufacturers can get them super cheap. And the $12 and $20 servos they sell, aren’t digital. Sorry bud.

Most of Cirrus and Towerpro servos can perform at less than half what they are advertised at. If you are lucky. Some can’t even do that.

I swapped the cirrus steering servos out of my old Losi LST before they started using JR servos, and replaced them with Hitec HS-5645’s. They were 10 times the servo that the cirrus’s were.

They will definitely be able to run a BRAT though. I’ve seen people do it with 40oz servos.

Have fun and be careful. Robotics is a drug and lynxmotion is the needle.

That should be your signature!

Advertise that in robot magazine!!!

The digital ones seem to only work with a select few rc recievers(no idea why,if i push the servo horn right once it gets to about center it returns to 90 degrees left, with its settings at 1500)whered did you here these servos where crap.Ive had them going for years in my rcs(swapped them from a hitec hs 645mg).So far it can get my brat to well if i could call it that walk a few steps(it looks like its drunk)and balance on one leg with the other leg skyward. It so far it performs well but i had to turn down the speed of them, there pretty smooth and will only jitter at 90 degrees occasionally. This may contradict what you said though.well to each there own i guess.thanks

Ive had a few ideas with the ses tubing to the brat to test the servos power. But i think they all would have required 150 oz/in digital though. But i prolly will try them and if the servos dont work then ill buy some futaba or hitec and use the cirrus servos for something less taxing.
