Humansā¦
this explains so much
Thatās a cool looking humanoid. Care to take some more pictures, perhaps with better lighting and more close-up?
Beth and Jim,
Thanks, Iām glad it wasnāt me. Iāve tried that thing again and again. Jim the robot is actually 99% your brackets, I just made a few modifications on them, not much though. The design comes from bots Iāve seem on your site and other bots Iāve seen. It started out looking like the waist rotation robot on your site and it has gone through at least 25 rebuilds. I can get a little nuts when I build things, now Iām working on an outer shell.
Iāll probably get it to walk next year.
Thanks Guys!

Beth and Jim,
Thanks, Iām glad it wasnāt me. Iāve tried that thing again and again.
Iāve never actually used imageshack for image hosting, so I really donāt know why itās so squirrelly. Iāve used Photobucket and havenāt had any problems.
Beth,
I will try PhotoBucket when I take more pics tonight an post them. Thanks for the positive comments guys.
Thanks
Great Biped! Now we need a YouTube video of it walking.
imageshack has always worked for me. At times they can be slow but for the most part they work fine. You just have to be careful with the HTML code links and pick the appropriate one for the job. I usually always use the ādirect linkā code to post in the forums. If the image is very large, then I will use the thumbnail option.
SN96,
I Need a head for this guy. Are you selling the skull heads that Iāve seen on your site. Are something close. Simply put, āYour Head will look good on my bodyā.
Come on hook a brother up.

LOL! Man I wish I had a milling maching cause I would make several compies and sell them to anyone who wants one, but unfortunetly, I dont have one. I am expecting another one from my friend in the future.
If you are willing to pay around $300, I can design you one free of charge, but you will need to submit it to eMachineShop to have it made.
I had a friend make mine using the DXF files exported from eMachineShop, so it did not cost nearly as much.
Mike,
Iāll take you upon up on the offer of the free design. I have a pretty good network of friends here in Chicago, I think through them I can get one done for pretty cheap, probably for free, Iām pretty good with the barter system. Send me the design and Iāll let you know what I do for you.
Ken
Ok Ken, Ill get cracking on the design. Give me some time and I will get back to you.
THANKS MAN!
how height is your robot? (overall)
Hello,
Origen stands about 19 inches tall without head. Depending on the vison system I am working on, with a head he could be about 21 to 23 inches talk.
Ken
wow!
thatās amazing!
cant wait to see it perform
how about the walking movement?
does it stable?
Hey,
Video and everything are on the way. Right now I am dealing with a medical thing. So it will take some time.
Ken
Ken,
How is this design? It is $281.29 when you use eMachineShop.
The eye sockets is 5mm for any comon LED. YOu can use IR LEDs or even a red LED to give it a terminator look.

Let me know if you like this one.
Wow. Thatās really excellent. How does it attach?

There are 4 #4-40 screw holes on the bottom that a lexan bracket can be made to mount it to a servo.

Here is a screenshot of it matched up on the bottom of the head.

Hereās a photo of my aluminum head showing the servo horn mounted to a lexan bracket secured with 4 #4-40 screws. I found it is so much better to epoxy the servo horn to the lexan bracket rather than try to screw it on. I sanded the bracket before using industrial strength epoxy and itās solid like a rock.
Dude,
I donāt think God has a word for how awesome that is. That is going work just fine.
