Needed driver for USB to 9 pin Serial cable

I purchased a cable from ebay to connect the SSC-32 to a USB connection. It has HL-340 imprinted on it. It did not come with a driver CD and I’m having a heck of a time finding a driver necessary to install the cable.

I have tried various sources via google and nothing seems to work. Has anyone had such an experience and how did you get around it. I’m willing to purchase another cable if necessary but thought I’d give this one last try

Thanks

I don’t know anything about the one you have. I can recommend some that people have used successfully though.

The problem may not be the driver but instead the configuration. Check out this thread.

Also some of the USB to serial cables need to be connected to powered hubs when they are used with laptops. Some sort of USB port power issue.

I did a google search for “HL-340” and the first result was this site:
davesdrivers.com/forum/showt … 130&page=2

I didn’t read through the thread, but in the first post on that page there is a driver for the HL-340 cable. There might be more information or alternate drivers there - maybe you’ll get lucky!

Buying USB to serial adapters on ebay is a crap shoot. I’ve gotten a couple that don’t really work as advertised. You might try the below driver (found using google). If you paid for the adaper using paypal, contact paypal and have them with hold payment until the seller supplys a driver that works (been there, done that).
