I have an MX-04 servo driver but it only gives 45 degrees on either side of center. I thought it would give me full range. I tried it on a couple of Hitecs and a Parallax (Futaba?). Is this typical? Is there a way to mod it to give 180?
Thanks.
For standard servos, you just command them to move 180 deg. taking care that you dont go beyond the mechanical stops. For digital servos, I believe you need to program them to be able to move a full 180 deg.
Perhaps someone can give you a better answer than me, but that is how I understand it.
It looks to me like it only outputs pulses between 1 and 2ms. If you want 180 degrees, I think you need 0.5-2.5ms.
Most rc stuff only delivers between 1-2ms, so a lot of testers only do that too. The ssc-32 gives the option of extra, but at the risk of wrecking your servos if you don’t be careful.
OK, Kroony, it makes sense. I should have figured that out.
Thanks.
You can add 1.2 to 2.7k resistors to the outside contact on the pot inside the servo. You will have to experiment with the resistor value but around 2K on each side will extend the rang to 150 -180 deg.
