Mini Atom Bot + OOPIC

Hey there,

I am new to this forum and also novice in robotics, although has extensive software experience in embedded systems.

I just purchased a Mini Atom Bot Board (ABB) with a Basic Atom Pro 28 pin chipset. However I intend to use the board with an OOPIC chipset (I think OOPIC-C) to take advantage of some interesting concepts like the OO scripting language and the virtual circuits capability.
I like this board because it gives me the choice between sevral processors. Each of them has very interesting features.

I know the ABB was specifically designed for the Basic Atom chipset and fully take advantage of the board, like with the HSERVO command.

I wanted to know if anyon here has used the OOPIC with the ABB and if there is anything similar to HSERVO in the OOPIC object library.

The other question I have is regarding the embeded software on the Basic Atom 28 Pro. Does is run with some sort of RTOS ?

Thanks,

Amir.

I dont think The Mini-AB supports the OOPIC chip. But then again, I know nothing about the OOPIC.

The features descriptions says:
“Excels with the Basic Atom or Basic Atom Pro, accepts all BS2, Oopic-C or BasicX micros”

I read something on the oopic web site. They released a new chipset. The OOPIC-C to expand their users base to people who already have a board and would like to use a different chip.

I have never tested the OOPic-C with the Bot Board. I did however verify with Scott Savage the designer of the OOPic line that the OOPic-C is a BS2 pin for pin compatible, which is what the Bot Board is. Good luck with the OOPic programming…

The OOPic-C is quite old. I haven’t seen anything new from that group for a really long time!
