Litter robot 3 different problems over one day

Order number 1185633

This was a random set of problems with no apparent logic.

Got a flashing blue light, cleaned DFI sensor, problem went away for a day
Sequential orange-red lights started happening at random, took apart the entire robot, cleaned everywhere, put robot back together. Only a light sprinkling of dust on the motor housing, no corrosion.

Worked for about 2 days, orange-red sequential flashing came back, can sometimes resolve with reset button or power cycle.
Now blue light is flashing again with clean DFI sensor and there is no way to clear the fault.

Pressing and holding the reset button orange light starts blinking rapidly, but there is no obstruction. Power cycle does nothing.

At this point the robot is not functional.

Your assitance in fixing the issues would be appreciated.

Hello @50w9552qq345 ,

Welcome to RobotShop community.

We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Litter-Robot.

In this case, the DFI sensor will need to be replaced so we can send you a new one under warranty.

As for the issue with the motor, please make sure that you are using the original power adapter and plugging it directly into the wall.

Then try to empty the clean litter from the globe and test if the same yellow>red blinking sequence will be back again.

We will also need to see the 3 sets of pins so please send us pictures like the ones attached below:

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hello,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

The power supply is the original that came with the litter robot, it is plugged into the mains directly without any extensions.

Behavior now is the same regardless of what I do with the robot fully assembled.

Blue light steady blinking, Cycle and Empty buttons do nothing, reset button makes the orange light flash rapidly. Pressing reset again makes the blue light flash steadily. Power cycling does not change anything.

I understand the reason for you asking for these 3 photos. I was able to measure continuity for both pins from the plug on the main board (black and purple cables) to the pins on the blue light connector on top of the globe cover, when the cover is closed.

I was also able to measure continuity from the back pins of the pinch sensor.

Attaching photos anyway.
