I just got the bug for robotics. So I have a few questions. Is there any Books anyone can recomend that would help increase my knowledge of Humanoids before I jump in, or links to websites with literature?
What Bot would you recomend for a beginer to start with. I am interested in the Humanoids. I dont have any requirements at the moment other than getting through the learning curve of Mechanics and Programing. I would perfer if the bot could grow with me and my knowledge. I think I would like to start out with a kit and build it. I think this will help me understand the fuctions a little better. I am mechanically inclined, so I am not to worried about the build process. Thank you for all your time.

Since you are interested in humanoid robots, then you should build one of those.
The B.R.A.T. would probably be the best way to ease into humanoid robotics, and there is a lot of support for it here.
Since The B.R.A.T. is built with Servo Erector Set components, it can always be expanded, changed, or disassembled and rebuilt into something completely different.
Definitely start out with The B.R.A.T. then. There are complete assembly and other tutorials here for it.

Thank you for the recomendation on a bot. Is there any reading material anyone can suggest? I like to do as much research as I can before jumping into anything. Or is Hands on the best way to learn? Thank you again for your time.
I have found that there is not a much better way to learn about this stuff than to just jump in with both feet and ask LOTS of questions here. That certainly worked for me and I have learned a LOT in this past year since I started fiddling with robotics. I started out in August of 2006 building my first robot (W.A.L.T.E.R., a two wheeled differential drive setup just converted to use motors and being promoted to four wheels) and still tinker with that one.
I also have a somewhat strange looking sort of humanoid hybrid I am calling The BiPod started. I have all the brackets assembled for it now and just need to fill it with 12 servos, battery, and a microcontroller brain.
Personally, I think some of the best research you can do is searching through these forums.
There are a lot of very smart people here of all ages, and most are more than willing to help somebody new to the hobby.

Thank you again for taking the time to answer my questions. I cant wait to get into the hobby. I, as I am sure with others, am a little restricted on funds at the moment. But as soon as I have it I am going to purchase a bot.
On a Side note, I see you play WoW. That’s Cool. 70 Gnome Rogue here. with multiple lower level twinks. I am on the Stormscale server though. Great game!

WoW? Can I guess, World of Warcraft.
