This is just too cool, Jim! You almost have me wanting to build a CH3-R, and add a Johnny 5 body to it later like you have here.

A question, though:
While it looks like it would be possible for it to reach the ground between the front legs, can the torso actually reach beyond the extent of the legs?
I dunno, we already took it apart. Note we keep a working model of almost every robot on the website. However this one is using my newly built CH3-R, and i need it. 
Keep in mind that this is just my example of what can be done. It’s not the end all solution to a humanoid-hexapod-chimaera robot. It’s just my version of it. 
I’m sure changes could be made to increase it’s ability to reach the ground by which brackets are used in the arms, and waist. Also the body can be lowered or angled to help.
I think it almost took off in the second vid!
