Hello Mike
Is there an add-on analog board that currently works with the SSC32 and/or will this be available for your planned SSC NG
I have been thinking about doing an “expander” board that would add 8 (or so) extra I/O points to the SSC NG. The extra I/O would be configurable as digital I/O or analog in. One SSC NG could support multiple expander boards up to some limit. The expander boards could potentially be mounted some distance from the SSC NG. I don’t know if this board would be usable with the SSC-32.
I say I have been thinking about doing this. I haven’t even discussed it with Jim yet to see if he is interested in manufacturing such a product. In any case it would necessarily come after the main SSC NG development.
Mike excellent.
The expander board would relieve the pressure for having more than 8 or 12 analog on the SSC NG main board.
Additionally with multiple expander boards, nobody will be able to complain that they cannot attach enough sensors to this upcoming SSC NG.
Currently:
With the SSC32 I have 2 fsr sensors on each forearm but would like a minimum of 4 on each forearm. I have 4 fsr’s on 1 hand and have to switch the connections back and forth between the hand and both forearms when testing on the SSC32.
The ability to have 4 fsr * 2 forearms and 6 fsr * 2 hands would (20 in total) be absolutely fantastic !
I also hope Jim looks with favor of this direction.
