IDE 5.3.1 Issues

Ok I’m using the IDE 5.3.1, Atom 28, and BBII.

This tutorial:

lynxmotion.com/images/html/build034.htm

and the lynxmotion PS2 controller.

I’m trying to establish a connection, but it seems that every value returned in the terminal 1 is 255. Any ideas as to how to modify the code?

Hi, we spoke on the phone. I will add that the new editor doesn’t have a no parity option for the terminal window. The PS2 controller is connecting, so I don’t suspect that. It’s an issue with getting the information displayed properly.

It’s going to be tomorrow. Nathan is on a business trip.

Right I just realized that I forgot to mention that

Sorry if I am completly off base here, but I read this and wondered if by chance you are exactly following the tutorial and plugging the PS2 controller into pins 4-7, where maybe on the BB2 you might need to plug them into pins 12-15? Just a thought

Edit: and of course update the program to use P12-p15…
Kurt

yea, thanks

I already checked that, and re-checked all of the connections, and happy to say that the problem is solved thanks to another set of eyes, and no thanks to my being semi-color blind.

Thanks all and sorry for the trouble

It is good to hear you have it working

So the program has parts you need to enable or disable using the rem (comment) characters. You caught the one for the pins used for the PS2 controller but you missed the ones that tell it which way to format the data for the IDE you are using.
