Hi, we spoke on the phone. I will add that the new editor doesn’t have a no parity option for the terminal window. The PS2 controller is connecting, so I don’t suspect that. It’s an issue with getting the information displayed properly.
Sorry if I am completly off base here, but I read this and wondered if by chance you are exactly following the tutorial and plugging the PS2 controller into pins 4-7, where maybe on the BB2 you might need to plug them into pins 12-15? Just a thought
Edit: and of course update the program to use P12-p15…

I already checked that, and re-checked all of the connections, and happy to say that the problem is solved thanks to another set of eyes, and no thanks to my being semi-color blind.
So the program has parts you need to enable or disable using the rem (comment) characters. You caught the one for the pins used for the PS2 controller but you missed the ones that tell it which way to format the data for the IDE you are using.
