I need help PLEASE!

Submit the code or a link to it, and we will try to recreate the problem, or verify it works, on this end. You must provide more details for people to be able to assist you. Do you have a game console to test the controller with?

pretty PLEASE

please please write me a program

Sorry I don’t have this setup ( I do not have the Lynxmotion PS2 remote, or the car…) so I don’t think I can help you write the program. However I will try to give you a few suggestions on what I would look at if it were my robot and I was having this problem.

When you say you turn your robot on, does the Led on the Atom Bot Board with your atom on it light up?

Were you previously able to compile the source code that you pointed to in a previous post and download the code to the Atom?

On my Hex robot which I am using a PS2 controller (Mine is by Sector 7). I have a dongle that came with the PS2 controller that plugs into the PS2 cable. This cable connects to IO Pins 4-7 on the ABB board. Mine has an LED that also turns on when I power up my robot. Does yours have an LED and if so does it light up?

If it does not light up, are you sure you have +5 volts going to pins 4-7? That is one of the jumpers on the ABB board. Does your Controller have charged batteries. If the transmiter dongle requires a battery, does it have a charged one in it? Are there on/off switches on either of these components?

Have you tried pressing the analog button on the controller to see if it makes any difference?

I am sorry I can not give you any more exact information. I know it can be frustrating. The first PS2 controller I bought (logitech) turned out to be the one that is known to have problems, and after fighting it for a day or so I purchased a different one.

Good Luck

Sorry for the overnight delay. I am doing the best I can… I did the setup exactly as the tutorial explains. This bit of code does not force the PS2 controller into analog mode, so I had to press the analog button on the controller to get it to work. However the receiver “connect” LED only blinks until I turn on the transmitter. So if your receiver never stops blinking, it means it’s not able to communicate with the transmitter.

Here is a troubleshooting hint. When you turn the transmitter on does it’s LED blink continuously? If not, check your batteries to make sure they are fully charged and installed correctly. If the LED in the transmitter AND the receiver blink constantly then you may have some other 2.4ghz signal that is interfearing, or they could be defective. Hope this helps.

what do you meen by defective?
the batteries are brand new by the way because thats what i
thought too

do i need a new controller or somthing

What I mean by defective is, not working or broken… I could answer that better if you would have answered my questions. You can send the controller back to us to check it for you, but I really need you to answer my questions first.

ok sure
so what other questions do
you have?

my phone is 2.4 ghz
would that interfear with the signal
and i don’t think my controller is
defective because both the lights are blinking
but if the controller is defective then is it possible
for you to send me a new one

please?

now, i understand your enthausiasm wowy, but you need to calm down a bit, everyone on the forums are doing the best they can to help everyone else, and just wait for you post to be answered, ok?

anyway, it could be possible that you phone is interfearing, but im not entirley sure, someone else on the forum could probably tell you

The wireless PS2 controllers I’ve used were all 2.4ghz models so you could very well have a problem there. I suggest you move the phone out of the room to test if thats the problem.

If the LEDs are blinking on both the transmitter and the reciever, then your reciever is not hearing what the transmitter is shouting at it.

Take out your batteries and measure them with a volt meter to get a better guess on whether or not they’re fresh.

If that doesn’t work, take a picture of your setup and post it on the forums.
You can upload images conveniently from imageshack.us without having to sign up for anything.

thanks but i already have an account on photobucket.com/
and yes i will be happy to show you
but still i already told you that the leds are blinking on both
transmitter/reciever

did you try moveing the phone/unplugging it?

yeas i even shut
the phone line off :bulb:

hmmm, then im lost

me too

Im sure there is no “interferance”. Double and triple check all your wiring, batteries etc and than consult all the manuals and data that you recieved with all your components.

I assume you have tried things like pressing the analog button on the controller?

It might be a good if you did post a closeup of your atom bot board, such that other people on the board could verify which jumpers are installed and which pins the wires are connected to.

Good Luck
