My son is 11 and loves how things work, mechanics, creating, etc.
I want to get him something he can understand as he is just starting to get into robotics. Any suggestions?

We would suggest looking at our suggested robots for Elementary Schools and probably even more (since 11) the High Schools section for ideas.
A good choice would be an Arduino based robot se he can learn how to program it and make the robot evolve with his skills.
