My setup includes a BotBoard II, Basic Atom 28, 6 volt battery pack (for servos), 9 volt battery (for logic), and 3 servos, including a HS 5645MG servo, and a PS2 wireless controller cable and receiver.
I’m using 24 inch servo extenders on all of the servos. The HS5645MG servo was working well for the past week with everything plugged in. Now it only responds to inputs from the PS2 controller about 1 out of 5 times.
Servos plugged into other pins on the Bot Board II work just fine. Could the pin the HS 5645MG servo is plugged into be damaged or not receiving enough current? Could there be some sort of electrical interference?
What confuses me is that the 6V battery is fully charged, but the HS 5645MG servo is acting as if it is not receiving enough power.
Please offer theories on what could be wrong, or tests that I could run to figure out the problem.
Can you take the lid off the servo to check that the gears are able to move freely? You might be able to just try to move the output shaft by hand. Test two of them to see if one has more friction than the other.
