I have an old handheld gps from 2000. It still works and everything. Has anybody ever tried to create a robot navigation system using one of these. I was thinking of using a data telementry system to send the location of my robot and using it as a compass.

I have successfully connected an original Garmin Streetpilot ciria 1998 and had no problems. The bot will need to be moving however to get an accurate compass reading.
