Hi, I have a pan and tilt B wich I hooked up to my rover. I hooked it up to channel 3 and 4 and it dosent work! I am using a laser 4 radio controller, so i dont know what the problem is.
What motor controller are you using? If you are using the Scorpion you need to disable the battery elimination circuit and power the RC receiver directly from a battery. The battery elimination circuit has enough current to power the receiver, but not the receiver and servos.
i read about that in the scorpion manual but am confused how to do it. There are two pads with the BEC (tiny metal ones) which are not connected in between. there is green in the middle of both. does this mean it is disabled? If not, how do I disable this?
wait ur using an R/C reciever for you pan and tilt, right?
cause you should be able to control servos directly from that reciever and if thats not wat ur tryomg to do, just ignore me
thats what im trying to do, but its not working, not even when I take my motors off channel 1 and 2. it still dosnt work.
try pluggin a servo into all the cannels while checking if it works, usually works for me, and make sure the servo leads arn’t switched around
I did, no go
Have you measured the voltages coming off the power to ground (constant) and the signal to ground (fluctuating) of your receiver? If not do so. Have you tested the servos offline of this RC setup to verify they are both working? If not, do so. Let us know what you find. If may be you radio if these first two suggestions dont find abnormal behavior.
Chris
???still not working I’m affraid
Joe, your RC equipment came with a battery pack eh? Can you power the RC receiver from the battery pack and plug the servos in. I mean can’t you just use the thing the way it was designed?
Then when it is working you can connect the scorpion to the RC receiver to control the rover. If the battery elimination issue is confusing you then just pull the red wires from the wires that go from the scorpion to the RC receiver. It’s the safest way to disable the BEC.
oohhh, sorry. at first, from the other posts i was confused, but now I understand. I did find that battery pack by the way, thx.
srry for the trouble (not good with servos).
thnks Jim.
