Encoder for GHM-16 motor?

humm, no “motors” category.

I found this LM motor:

Gear Head Motor - 12vdc 30:1 200rpm (6mm shaft)
Description -

Which sounds like it would work, but I’d like to know what USDigital encoder would be used with it. Or what the other end of the motor looks like.

Are there any other motors with encoders already?

We will have several motors with the extended motor shaft. Several new ones will be on the website in about 2 weeks. I was contacted by US Digital saying they were discontinuing the adhesive mount version of their encoder that works with these motors. They also told me I would still be able to get them as special order. I will be investigating this further in the next couple weeks. Whilst we are in the interim I will be looking at a reduced resolution version as the old ones were quite overkill.

Do you buy the encoders too? I would like a pair of motors and encoders, whatever resolution you come up with.

I can certainly wait two weeks or a little more.

Good news everyone. I have negotiated the purchase of the E4P-100-079-DHTB quadrature encoders this morning. I ordered the 100 count this time instead of the 120 count. They will be here next week.

Also, back by popular demand, the GHM-03 and GHM-04. These are 7.2vdc motors that have the external motor shaft for the US digital encoders. They are scheduled to arrive in two weeks.

GHM-03 7.2vdc 30:1 (two weeks)

It’ll fit on any motor that specifies “External Motor Shaft for adding USDigital Encoder”, which are the GHM-03, GHM-04, and GHM-16 motors, but only the GHM-16 motor is currently in stock.

I see that now. But GHM-03 doesn’t look like its got a tail shaft. Does it?

That’s OK, I think the GHM-16 is the one I’ll be ordering.

Yes, all of the motors that state “External Motor Shaft for adding USDigital Encoder!” have the extended tail shaft.

I’ve changed the product images for GHM-03, GHM-04, and GHM-16 to clear up any confusion. Hope this helps!
