Hello,

I wish to buy from RobotShop, a powerful 12Volt DC motor compatable with a 12 volt motor speed congroller with reversible switch and rheostat I already have on hand. I have bought several gear head motors elsewhere, but find them of cheap quality and quite noisy in operation. The motor will operate at only 0 to 20 RPM to drive a Stuart model beam engine. The motor will be a direct drive to a 2" friction pulley which drives a 7" cast iron flywheel on the model steam engine.

I only need two wires coming from the motor for input to the control board - not six as I see on some that have encoders attached.

Hi John,

How much current your motor controller can provide continuously ? Can you attach its datasheet or provide its technical specs ?
Also, do you have an idea of the torque you need for this application ?
