I want to make an array of leds on a panel change color to match thier backround. mostly blue with some red. I.E. if i hold the panel up the sky it will mimick the sky’s blue. I figure i need some type of photocell on the back of the panel which senses the color needed, then maybe a basic stamp or some sort of computer to decide what to do? Is there a simpler way to do it? can anybody give me a link or a schematic of the circuit?
I think you will find what you want to do much more complex than you expect. As far as I know there are no magic photocells that will do what you want. You will probably need a color video cam/chip and advanced programming at a minimum.
i suppose a video camera outputing its video feed to a lcd screen would work wouldnt it?
Sure, that works (check out the lcd screens on the demo camcorders at BestBuy), but that does not seem to be what you origionally ask.
I’m sure Philips invested a lot of money doing something very similar, Ambilight for their flat screen TVs.
