Can anyone help with wireless relay

I have purchased the wireless send receive relay from robot shop but I am having a littl etrouble figuring out how I should connect. I have attached a diagram for reference. Could someone tell me if I have this right or I need to change something?

Thank you so much.

I’ve made some changes trying to follow what you reccommended. I have attached another image. I have not given it power because I want to be sure my connections are right first. Please see the attached drawing and let me know if this looks better.

Thank you.

I’ve made additional corrections using your advice. Hopefully I am following you. I did ready the wiki… Please take a look at this updated diagram. I think most of my confusion is coming from what you silk screened on the board as (A) +5volt and what is marked as (3) TE. I need these both to feed off the 5v supply?

Trying to explain my issue and put a picture of my diagram in my post and it wont let me. I have got the power all the places the instructions said to put power 12VDC on the Module relay and 5v in the 2 places on the wireless control. I put the ground in the odd place it says to use ground. I am only using one pair so did not setup any funky addressing. I tried with all the jumpers. Then tried with just pin 2. Then tried no jumpers at all. I can’t get the relay to activate. I wanted to use this to trigger the backdoor relay of my doorbell so that I would know if one of my kids has gone out the backdoor as I have a swimming pool. Any advise would be appreciated. I am half temted to send this back as it looked oxidized and covered in poor cold solder joints. I have a diagram but cant seem to upload or post a URL from google photos.

Hopefully it is now accepting my diagram

This is how I want it to work but have just tried the jumper and the absence of the jumper and cannot get the relay to activate on the relay module at all.

Hi jmorrone,

Not quite correct. A few evident issues are:

  1. Wireless relay controller: you indicate 12V DC, but it only takes 5VDC, and there is a cautionary note indicating that the ground pin is actually far away from point ‘A’. For whatever reason, the two pins at ‘A’ are connected to each other, meaning it’s the same connection point for 5V. Next, it seems you can remove jumpers 1, 3, 4 on the controller since only jumper 2 is needed to control relay 2. Based on the instructions, you need to remove jumper 2 and connect ti to 5V and GND in order to activate it. TE is activated with a 5V signal (according to the manual, though on the board it is printed 12V - odd).

These are the more evident issues - read through the manual thoroughly and if you are nervous about dammaging the relay sysem, proceed slowly and use a multimeter to check continuity.

Hope this helps,

Your power looks better now, but your switch is only controlling on/off of the circuit, not the transmission. You need to connect a 5V supply to TE (3) in order to activate the relays. You can connect a switch or button there connected to a 5V source. Once again, both TE pins are joint, so it’s really just one pin.

You might also want to look at the product wiki page in case you need more information on how to use it: garden.seeedstudio.com/index.php?title=Codec-Adaptive_Wireless_Relay

We think it would be wise to escalate this to the manufacturer support: seeedstudio.com/forum/

If they find out your product is defective, RobotShop will be happy to exchange it if you contact us via the Support Center and include your order number and a transcript of their reply.
