Book

Can someone recommend a good book on Artificial Intelligence and Obstacle Avoidance etc…

I think i grasp the concept of the ANN, but I think learning a bit more about it would be nice. Please keep in mind. I am a beginner at this. I think if i can get my mind around it a bit better i can code an ANN for my Octopod (is that even the right term for eight legs instead of 6?).

Any help would be welcome. Heck even if someone has code snippets in any language that could point me in the direct or confirm my direction i wouldnt complain…

Seems google is not my friend on this or once again my search terms suck

Rodney Brooks has some good information.
