Hello, I'm currently working on a project with the Arduino Uno R3 that includes 4 HXT 900 9g servos, LCD 16x2 screen, and a HC-SR04.
This being my first electronic project I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. From reading the Uno manual It says the lowest operating voltage is 6v, and the lowest recommended is 7v.
Do you think I would run into any problems by running the entire project from 6v Nimh? I had my eye on this 6v battery pack but I think the mAh may be a bit too low. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__25030__Turnigy_LSD_6_0V_2300mAh_Ni_MH_Flat_Receiver_Pack.html I had planned to run the power to the servo's directly without regulating them to keep it simple, but then I had a look over Oddbot's regulating guide https://www.robotshop.com/letsmakerobots/node/3880 and it seems I would still want to regulate the 6v power source.
Or perhaps I should should just bump the battery count up to 6 AA Nimh to make it 7.2v? I would rather stick to using Nimh batteries as I said before this being my first leap into electronics I wanted to keep it simple (and safe). LiPo batteries seem a bit intimidating to me at the time being.
Any advice Is appreciated and I apologize for my ignorance. Thanks!
