BACNET Control of 24 V DC Motors

I am trying to find a simple way to connect 24 V DC motors used to open and close windows to a Building Automation System using BACNET. I don’t have to do any of the programming, I just need to provide to the motors and the power supply.

The motors will also be controlled locally using a wall toggle switch. The BAS provided override and lock our capability.

Full Disclosure: I am a mechanical guy, so don’t get too technical too quickly. I assume that there is a simple controller that will accept a 24 V DC input, a BACNET input signal and provide a +/- 24 V DC output to the window motor.

Unfortunately BACnet protocol is not used in hobby robotics (it seems more for process and industrial automation) and as such, we are not very familiar with how it functions. Some more research on your end will be needed:

Perhaps someone from the community has some experience and will offer some insight.
