What style of hexapod are you considering? You need 3DOF legs do the moves for a round style hexapod.
With a good servo controller, you should be able to use your current BOEbot board. However, all the code you will find here is for the Basic Atom or Atom PRO and SSC-32 servo controller. I don’t know if PowerPod will generate BS2 code or not. You should not try to have your BS2 run 12 servos by itself - you need a good servo controller.
Other than going custom, I don’t think there is a better way to build a hexapod than SES. The SES is expandable and you can always take an SES robot apart and use the parts to build another robot. You can always add 1DOF to a 2DOF hexapod later one, using the SES.
Better is always a relative term, but if you want a really nice, easy to build hexapod for a reasonable price then you can’t go wrong with the SES. And like Dale said, it’s extendable and reconfigurable. It’s like legos for grownups. 8)
