24LC32P EEPROM

I’ve been looking for the EEPROM to fit but the 24LC32P doesnt seem to be available in the U.K. Is there an alternative? Or am I looking for the wrong thing?

Try looking for the 24AA32A. It is also a 32K EEPROM with the same pinout.

Nope, can’t find that here either

O.K. found it now, Farnell search engine is totally…

is this the same one 24LC32A/P ?

or is it one of the others on here:

From Laurents comments in his file, its not the 32 we need…

These chips appear to be labelled as Kbits therefore the 24LC32 is ony a 4Kbyte chip.

In his notes he mentions the 24LC256 and 24LC512 which are 32Kbyte and 64Kbyte respectively which is what I bought. Havent plugged them in yet though…

I have several of the 24AA1025 (1 MBit) and have ordered some of the 24FC1025’s. WALTER is going to get a memory soon. That would be the “L(earning” part of his name.

I was thinking of calling mine Kenny as he spends most of his time dead in pieces

Yes it’s the 24LC256 and 24LC512 that will work. I’ve tested it.

Yippee, bought the right thing…

30 years in the business and I think I’m beginning to get the hang of things.

Just gotta finish wiring my MR162 now and I might be able to put the bot together again.

Is this for that mysterious empty EEPROM socket on the SSC-32??

8-Dale

ssshhh its a secret but yes…

Laurent has done some work / still doing some work so we can store sequences on the eeprom and we get new commands so we can play them…

Whooo hoooo us then! Looks like I will be ordering some of the 512Kbit EEPROMs soon then.

Is there anything specifically that would prevent a 24LC1025 from working too? Their write speed and page size matches the 24LC512, and they are cascadable up to 4. They are double the capacity of the 24LC512. Same 8 pin DIP form factor too.

How about the 25LC1024? I will be getting a few of these in a week or so. I will have to put one in one of my SSC-32’s and see if it works.
