H2: Unitree’s 2025 Humanoid Upgrade

The H2 marks a defining milestone in full-scale humanoids. Below is a breakdown of its standout features:

  • Human-like Mobility: 31 degrees of freedom for smooth, natural motion and balance.
  • Smart Interaction: Integrated voice communication and designed facial features.
  • AI-Driven Vision: Wide-FoV binocular cameras for real-time visual recognition.
  • Computing Power: Onboard processing for speech, vision, and perception — expandable on the EDU model for research-grade AI.
  • Premium Build: Aircraft-grade materials ensure structural strength and precision.
  • Smart Performance: Quick-swap battery (~3 hours runtime) with intelligent OTA updates.

Together with extended endurance, these upgrades reinforce its readiness for both industrial and research use.

Unitree H2 Specifications Image

Comparing the Unitree H2 to the H1 & H1-2 Robots

While Unitree hasn’t explicitly stated that the H2 evolved directly from the H1-2, shared specifications suggest it was built on that foundation. It stands tall, with proportions closer to a human frame. Although both models share similar weight, the H2’s longer legs improve stride and stability while maintaining similar arm ratios.

H2 IN MOUVEMENT

Both robots offer 6 DoF per leg and 7 DoF per arm, with comparable knee torque, confirming that the H2 refines the H1-2’s architecture rather than replacing it. Let’s review them with a side-to-side comparison.

Key upgrades include a stronger arm payload, a higher-capacity battery providing longer operating time, and a more integrated computing system that replaces the H1-2’s dual-core configuration — simplifying setup within a unified commercial design.

H2 & H2 EDU Series: Release, Pricing & Availability

The release timeline has not been announced yet. The Unitree website indicates a starting price of USD $30,000 for the H2, while pricing for the H2 EDU series has not yet been announced.

Mechanically identical to the standard H2, the H2 EDU adds a dual-computing architecture (Intel Core i5 + i7), optional Jetson AGX Thor module, and full SDK access, turning it into a programmable research platform.

Dexterous Hands will also be offered as optional upgrades for advanced manipulation and robotics research.

Potential Use Cases & Applications

The H2’s sculpted features and animated eyes reflect Unitree’s vision of humanoids that feel approachable and are built for real human connection.

Thanks to its cutting-edge actuation and scalable computing architecture, the H2 represents a compelling platform for research-oriented fields — from workflow simulation and automated operations to human-robot collaboration and navigation studies.

H2 IN MOUVEMENT

While not officially positioned for a specific market, the H2’s design suggests potential for workflow simulation, high-risk task automation, and research in navigation, interaction, and human–robot collaboration.
