Solid yellow and unresponsive robot

Hi.

I’ve seen the same issue in this forum many times, and I don’t know how to use my warranty.

So here is all the data…

Litter-Robot 3 Connect + 18 months warranty
Order #2100001817

The robot is completely frozen. Solid yellow light and nothing else. No button works at all. Not controllable via wifi either. It doesn’t rotate. It does nothing, basically. No matter how long you wait, it is just a solid yellow light.
I just can unplug it and plug it again, and the yellow light comes back immediately.

Thank you.

Hello @marcgp ,

Welcome to RobotShop community.

We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Litter-Robot.

Please unplug the robot for a few hours then plug it back in and right after that, touch the area between the “Reset” and “Empty” buttons and let us know if it heats up fast or not.

If it didn’t heat up, please follow this video to help you open the top part of the base and check the motor and its wires, make sure that the wires are connected well and not damaged:

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hello,

The temperature was okay, no heat at all (I have another litter-robot, and none of them seem to be hot in that area).

I followed the video, and both the motor and the wires seem to be okay…

Thanks.

Hello @marcgp ,

Thank you for your reply.

In this case, the DFI sensor is most likely to be the cause of this issue and needs to be replaced.

We can confirm this by swapping the DFI sensors between the two units that you have, but it’s okay if you find it too exhausting or complicated.

Here’s a video to show you how to replace the DFI sensor, please check it and let us know if you are able to replace it at home or if you prefer to send us the robot for repair under the warranty:

You will also need to check the Anti-Pinch pins in case they were rusty and needs to be cleaned with WD-40 and sandpaper or be replaced.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hello @Ebram ,

I think (I guess!) I could replace it by myself at home.

Hello @marcgp ,

Thank you for your reply.

Very well, in this case, we can send you a new DFI sensor.

Did you check and clean the Anti-Pinch? what’s their condition?

We will need your shipping address and the serial number located on the back of the robot.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,

Hello,

I did not check the Anti-Pinch that day, but I just opened the robot now and the pinch terminals are quite rusty…

Hello @marcgp ,

Thank you for your reply.

You can try to clean them with WD-40 and sandpaper then send us a picture of them after the cleaning to check their condition.

We will need your shipping address and the serial number located on the back of the robot.

Awaiting your reply.

Sincerely,
