Horn for Hitec H25T servos

Hi.

I just bought the following from RobotShop:
robotshop.com/uk/hs-8335sh-h … servo.html
robotshop.com/uk/futaba-spli … -horn.html

Based on various sources (for example: servocity.com/servo-spline-info) I understood that the H25T spline was compatible with the standard Futaba horn. However I have found that they do not fit (specifically the spline on the Hitec servo is too large for the horn).

Is this to be expected or is there a problem with the items I have received?
If it is in fact the case that they are NOT compatible, am I able to buy a metal horn for the Hitec H25T servo splines?
Would this fit? robotshop.com/en/actobotics- … b-1-2.html

Many thanks

According to Hitec, the HS-8330SH servo has an “industry standard 25 tooth spline” (it’s even printed on the servo horn).
The issue with RB-Mxx-02, according to the description, “has not been tested on metal final gears”.
The exact profile of the spline (pointy versus rounded, exact tolerances etc. versus the profile of the cutting tool which is used to create the inner spline on the metal horn may be slightly different.
As soon as there is an area where there is metal to metal contact, you cannot insert the horn onto the output spline, despite being the correct number of teeth, diameter etc.
It’s like having a spur gear with sharp angles at the top and bottom of each tooth trying to make contact with a spur gear with rounded angles (fillets) at the top and bottom of each tooth.
